Can i enherit my fathers shotguns if im a felon?

Its been 11 years since i got in trouble and since that ive been doing good. My father passed away and my mother wants to give me his shotguns but i dont want to brake any more laws. So i wondwring if felonys ever go away. If not is there a way i can give them to a cousin or sonething thank you
