How can i stop my yahoo emails from going to windows mail?

for some unknown reason, all my read and saved yahoo emails disappeared and reappeared in windows mail. new emails are still coming in to my yahoo account, but once i've read them they disappear and wind up in windows mail. i do not want my emails going to windows mail. HELP!!!!
