A few years ago I was going to write to a man that was incarcerated. He had a ad on a popular site.?

I ended up not writing to him and he was released from prison and has since been put back in prison. I would like to write to him now but he is not on the website for prisoners. I know what prison he is in. Would it be a little to weird to write him now. He seemed interesting and i just want a pen pal. He is a non violent felon, and i would just like to introduce myself to him.
