When I empty Trash from my email in my browser is it gone forever?

The fact that after I empty my trash every day from my deleted email in Seamonkey, my current browser or any other browser for that matter, my recycle bin on my desktop in windows does not indicate that the email was recycled at all, so where in fact do my deleted and emptied trash emails go actually?
